Darby Ratliff

Darby Ratliff is a doctoral candidate at Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri studying American Studies. She holds degrees from Canisius College and Saint Louis University and researches Catholicism, education, and empire in 19th-century America.

 

Project: The project seeks to explore the intersections of Catholic parochial schools and Catholic-run Native American boarding schools (NABS) in the eighteenth century.  Specific foci include parallels between the negative effects on Indigenous communities and the Catholic school system overall and the role of Catholic-Protestant relations in the development of schools.
